GREEN THUMB FINGER PRINT DISCRIMINATOR

When fingerprints from different people overlap it can be hard to differentiate one set of ridge patterns from another. Green Thumb is a dye solution designed to help criminalists solve this forensics problem. Green Thumb works by reacting differently to fingerprints left by different people.

Each person’s body chemistry is different. As a result, when fingerprints are fumed with cyanoacrylate, each person’s print catalyzes the crosslinking of the resin slightly differently.

Apply Green thumb after fuming and the dye solution will provide a color to the prints ranging from blue to yellow, with each print taking the coloration differently. These differences may be slight shade differences or actually different hues depending on the ambient conditions and the body chemistry of the person who left the print.

Like traditional coloration, Green Thumb colors cured cyanoacrylate fumed prints. Simply apply the spray to the cured cyanoacrylate print, warm gently and rinse off the excess.
